Handy Buddy's Newest Project

Buddy is always up to something....usually a project of some sort around the house.  It might be elaborate, it might just be "tinkering" but he never sits still.

His newest project has been to build shelves in his work trailer. He got this trailer for hauling around his tools (and he has A LOT of tools) but it had no shelving in it. He bought a set of adjustable shelves, but after installing them and trying them for a few weeks, it just wasn't working for him. So instead he bought a few pieces of wood, used some other wood we already had and built custom shelves to meet his needs.  And these pictures just don't do it justice!

This is the shelving unit he bought but even though it was adjustable it just didn't work.

Here are the shelves he built himself!  (And isn't the shelf model a cutie pie?)

I am so thankful I have a husband who is so good at envisioning the completed project and working to get to there. He can fix just about anything and can create just about anything too!  Not many men can do this! So proud of my guy!!

Knitting a Hat

Now that Jacob isn't a needy newborn anymore, I've gotten back into my knitting/crocheting.  I knit a dishcloth just for fun. I made a scarf for Quinn's teacher for Christmas.  After that, I decided I wanted to try something new.

Buddy has always said he wanted me to learn to knit a hat.  I found a super easy pattern for hat beginners and here's the results.

Homemade Foaming Hand Soap

I've read on several websites about how easy it is to make homemade foaming hand soap.  Since I   had an empty hand soap container, I decided to try it and see for myself. And it was SO EASY!! 

And I took pictures so you can see how easy it is too.

Items you need:
Empty Foaming Hand Soap container
A bottle of body wash (I used the liquid kind, not the creamy kind)
Warm water

First add about a half inch or so of the body wash to the pump container.

Then add warm water until almost to the top. Some suds will form!

After you add the warm water, swish the liquid around in the container for a few seconds so the soap will begin to dissolve.

Finally, add the pump to the container and there you go! Foaming Hand Soap.

This would be a great way to use up a bottle of body wash with just a little left over, or a way to use a scent that you aren't that crazy about.  I may never buy foaming hand soap again!!
