The Dust of His Feet

Lately I have become fascinated with taking pictures of the sky, clouds, and sunsets. I've mostly been using them on my classroom blog, as a feature called "Cloud Pic of the Day". I've also posted a few of them on Facebook, but I wanted to show some of my favorites here.

I was curious if there were any Bible verses about clouds, and I found several. Most of them talked about how the sky will look when Christ returns, but I did find one verse that really spoke to my heart.

Nahum 1:3 says "The Lord is slow to anger and great in power....His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet."

I can't look at the sky now without picturing the Lord walking around in heaven, and instead of looking like Pig Pen from Peanuts, He has clouds trailing behind him.  Ever since I read that verse a few weeks ago, I look at the sky and know that the Lord is walking right along with me!

Another Beautiful Sight in the Sky

Tonight there was a thunderstorm and lots of rain. The sky was really dark and for it to be 6 or 7pm, it seemed more like night time.  At about 8:15pm, I noticed the sky seemed much brighter. I went outside expecting to see a beautiful sunset.  Instead I saw this.

Quinn had never seen a real rainbow before so I brought him outside to see it. He said "Mommy, dat's a pretty rainbow."

Thank you Lord, for sending such a beautiful sight on this day, the 4th of July. Our true freedom is found in You, Lord, and in You alone!

Do you see what I see?

On Wednesday night at VBS, I noticed some of the teenage girls that were helping Quinn's group all looking up at the sky and pointing. I looked up too and saw this.

Do you see the heart?  Reminds me of these verses:

Jeremiah 31:3  "And the Lord appeared to us from afar saying I have loved you with an everlasting love..."

Psalm 19:1 "The Heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hand."
