Show me YOUR happy face!

Quinn got a MagnaDoodle from his Aunt Kristel for his first Christmas.  I would have to say this is one of his most used gifts. He loves to draw on his "doodle".

One day this week he drew the following picture.

Pretty cute, huh?

Quinn's Artwork

Although Quinn turned 3 back in January, he did not get to move up to the 3-year-old class at daycare until April.  One reason was that the class was full and he had to wait until some kids turned 4 and moved out. The main reason was that he wasn't potty-trained yet.  That is all behind us now though.  Well, let me just say he is a champ at #1, but can't seem to get the rest in the toilet. Here's hoping we can get a handle on that part before he starts preschool.

I just realized...you were expecting a post about Quinn's art work, not his potty abilities. Sorry I got a little side tracked. Anyway, in his 3 year old class, he has been doing more arts and crafts than he did in the 2s.  I took a picture of his latest projects to share.

The first one is a cute little bird that he made.  Quinn put the feathers on himself!

The next one is the card he made me for Mother's Day.  Mrs.Tina, his new teacher, told me he did the stem, leaves, and the flower decorating himself. He showed her where he wanted everything to go.

I am so looking forward to when he starts school this fall and all the little projects he will bring home!

Another Art Show by Quinn

I wanted to share some of Quinn's latest art projects. He has made these at school over the past few weeks.

The first one happens to be my favorite. Miss Lottie, his teacher, put some glue on a paper plate and then each child got a handful of tissue paper, the same kind you would use in gift bags. They got to crumple the paper, smush it up, etc, and then put it wherever they wanted to on the glue. Apparently Quinn liked the glue, until he realized his hands were sticky. And no, he did NOT eat any!!

Here is Quinn's creation.

This next one was done with red finger paint and sponges. I think it is very ironic that Quinn chose a dinosaur, as so many of his outfits that were my favorite had a dinosaur on them. Anyway, he created this, and then Miss Lottie let them get the paint on their hands and put a hand print.

Finally, this is what Quinn thought an Easter Bunny would look like. He put the eye on himself, and also helped with the tail.

Quinn's Artistic Debut (aka The Not-So-Unlucky-Friday-the-13th)

Two fun things happened last week on the so-called "Friday the 13th".

The first thing that happened was that Quinn got an early Valentine's Day package from his Grandma and Grandpa (my parents). My camera happened to be nearby, so I couldn't help but grab these shots of Quinn and the package. I think the pictures say it all.

Here he is examining the contents....a fold out Valentine's card and a green shirt. He really liked the card! Look at how seriously he is studying it.

Plenty of smiles say that this gift was a hit!! And I love this picture, because you can see all of his teeth....4 on top, 3 on bottom, and molars top and bottom!

The second fun thing was Quinn's first piece of artwork! He made this Valentine for me at his school. It is proudly on display in our kitchen, on the fridge. Tours are available any time, but unfortunately, this artwork is not available for purchase.
:-)
It says "Mom, you've got something that no other mother has!"

"Me....Sorry I'm non-returnable" Notice the lovely crayon-strokes!! My future artist!

See, Friday the 13th doesn't have to be all bad. And we didn't even have to deal with broken mirrors, black cats, or walking under ladders.
